Alternate Minitruck PDF Print E-mail

Inspired by the minitruck designed between Shuppiluliumas and myself, TJ Avery has come up with an alternate version.  I think this version would solve some of the issues caused by the 8-toothed gears grinding against the wheels that the original design had, but it should be noted this design only works properly with the non-standard o-rings we've previously discussed.

    The flickr thread mentions a problem with torquing to the side. If you mount the motor directly on the vertical axle and tie it into the truck, I think that problem should go away. (I believe Shuppiluliumas has done this several times)

    You will still get some torque steer just because there is a small amount of play in LEGO joints, but it will be minimized compared when compared to mounting the motor to the chassis.
